A graduate of the Zhenish Sports School became the bronze medalist of the Japanese National Karate-do Championship

On August 30-31, 2025, the 45th annual Japanese National Shotokan Karate-do Championship was held in Tokyo (Japan).

The tournament brought together athletes from 133 regional branches of the Shotokan Karate-do Federation of Japan, the total number of participants exceeded 1,000 people.

Kyrgyzstan was represented at the prestigious competitions by 23 athletes of the National Federation of Setokan Karate-do.

According to the results of the two-day championship:

- In the kumite (duels) category among boys aged 10-11 in the absolute weight category, Atabek Esenaliev, a graduate of the Zhenish Sports School, won a bronze medal, taking third place.

- In the kata discipline for men aged 45-49, karate coach Mirlan Uturov became the silver medalist, taking second place.
