In order to improve the provision of social services for elderly citizens of Bishkek, renovation works are actively underway at the “Ardager” Gerontological Center.
The Bishkek City Hall has allocated 4.8 million soms for the construction of a new fence, insulation of heating pipes, and interior repairs.
The “Ardager” Gerontological Center was established in 1994 at the initiative of the Bishkek City Hall and is funded from the city budget. It is a medical and social rehabilitation institution designed to promote active longevity.
Each year, around 960 elderly residents and persons with disabilities undergo rest and rehabilitation at the center, with 80 people receiving services every month.
Admission of elderly citizens is carried out on the basis of vouchers issued by the District Departments of Social Development of Bishkek according to the applicant’s registered place of residence.
