The municipal enterprise Bishkekteploset has completed the scheduled reconstruction of the main heating networks in the capital. The replacement of communications was carried out on key sections of Frunze Street, from Kasym Tynystanov Street to Torokul Aitmatov Street.
All sections where works were conducted have been fully restored, including road surface repairs across the excavation areas, and are now open to vehicular traffic. The works were completed in full and ahead of the approved schedule: the first section was commissioned 14 days earlier, and the last section 6 days earlier.
During this reconstruction, old pipelines with a diameter of 700 mm were replaced with new ones of 900 mm, allowing for fewer failures, improved hydraulic performance, reduced heat losses, and increased energy efficiency.
The heating network on Frunze Street had been in operation since 1971 (54 years), which is more than twice its normative service life of 25 years. Therefore, the replacement of pipelines was urgent and critically necessary.
The restoration of road surfaces is being carried out in coordination with the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office. This work is part of a large-scale program to modernize the streets of the capital. Within the framework of this program, Frunze Street will undergo full rehabilitation in 2026, including replacement of the road surface, installation of new drainage and lighting systems, and modernization of road structures and urban landscaping elements.
The heating network replacement was carried out in advance to avoid repeated road excavations and to ensure a comprehensive approach to updating city infrastructure.
Bishkekteploset maintains strict quality control, adherence to technological standards, and minimization of temporary inconveniences for the residents of Bishkek.
