In 2023, the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic conducted an audit to check compliance with legislation in the formation and execution of the local budget of Bishkek.

Following the audit, the municipality established a working group comprising representatives of relevant departments and structural units of the city administration.

The working group has been tasked with conducting a detailed analysis of the recommendations, addressing the issues identified in the auditor’s report, and preparing proposals to improve the budgetary process and financial discipline across subordinate and territorial divisions.

To date, city hall specialists are actively working to align the activities of all structural units with the requirements of the legislation and the recommendations of the Accounts Chamber.

Bishkek City Hall emphasizes that correcting shortcomings and increasing the transparency of the budget process remain priority objectives of the municipality.
