Today, the capital witnessed the grand opening of a modern sports stadium at School-Gymnasium No. 62.

Mayor Aibek Junushaliev delivered a congratulatory speech, celebrating the new facility with the school staff and students.

“Today, over 260,000 students study in 119 schools across Bishkek. In the past two years, 26 new schools, additional buildings, and kindergartens have been constructed. Our goal is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to engage in sports at their school. The work on upgrading and building sports facilities will continue,” the mayor emphasized.

It was noted that this stadium will be used exclusively for the school and its students.

The facility covers an area of 1.45 hectares and was funded from the local budget. The project was implemented by the Capital Construction Department of the Bishkek City Hall, with Omar Group LLC serving as the contractor.

For students, the stadium includes two mini-football fields, basketball and volleyball courts, a workout zone, and a children’s playground totaling 750 sq. m, as well as a drill ground of 1,600 sq. m and other sports areas.

The territory has been landscaped, with 6,200 sq. m of grass sown and irrigated using an automated hybrid system. A reservoir was built on-site, filled with water from the Ala-Archa River (no drinking water is used), and irrigation is carried out through a sprinkling system.

For safety, the area is fenced, equipped with evening lighting and video surveillance. A durable rubber surface ensures that students can engage in sports activities throughout the year.
