Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev visited the newly opened branch of a school located within the “Muras” residential complex, built by the State Mortgage Company (GIK).

The branch opening is part of a project aimed at relieving overcrowded schools in the capital, implemented under the directive of President Sadyr Japarov and coordinated by the Bishkek city administration.

As a temporary but effective solution, classrooms have been organized on the ground floors of residential buildings, providing children with quality education near their homes and reducing the pressure on nearby schools until new schools and kindergartens are constructed.

The first project site is School No. 40 on Malikova Street, accommodating grades 5–9. The facilities provided by GIK can host up to 1,000 students, with classes held in two shifts.

In addition to general education subjects, the school offers extracurricular clubs including chess, toguz korgool, handicrafts, painting, and applied arts, allowing students to develop their talents and interests alongside academic learning.

Mayor Junushaliev praised the implementation of the pilot project, noting that this format could serve as a model for other districts. He also instructed the development of methodological guidelines for its wider adoption.

“The main goal is to create comfortable conditions for learning and development for children, regardless of the district they live in,” emphasized the mayor.
