Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, handed over 17 land title decrees to residents of the Zher-Intymagy residential area, legalizing a total area of 69 hectares.
The documents were issued in accordance with a Cabinet of Ministers resolution, which modified the boundaries of cemetery protection zones—from 50 meters down to 10 meters—for properties eligible under the land amnesty program. This adjustment allowed residents whose homes were previously within the restricted zones to legalize their land plots.
Mayor Junushaliev emphasized:
"All these actions are part of the policy of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov. We have managed to preserve the homes of those who have lived here for 15–20 years. We have taken all necessary measures and today we have legalized your lands promptly."
In total, 43 land title decrees have been signed for the Zher-Intymagy residential area.
Background:
Land amnesty commissions operate under the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 567 dated October 18, 2022, amending Resolution No. 291 of May 31, 2022, on the procedure for conducting land amnesty.
