Bishkek Mayor Aybek Dzhunushaliyev met with a delegation of the South Korean company K-water headed by Vice President Mr. Han Song-young in the meeting room of the metropolitan Municipality.

The parties discussed the implementation of a joint project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and restore Bishkek's urban environment. The project involves the replacement of fuels, the installation of modern water devices, the use of biogas, as well as the introduction of systems to prevent gas leaks and other urban regeneration measures.

"Bishkek City is increasing its budget and actively developing infrastructure, but we still face many challenges that require comprehensive solutions. We hope that joint activities and the implementation of individual projects will allow us to apply the successful experience of the Republic of Korea in our city," said Mayor Aybek Junushaliev.

Mr. Han Song Yong, Vice President of K-water, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and stressed the company's willingness to work actively: "We are confident in the successful implementation of the project and will do everything possible to contribute to the sustainable development of Bishkek."

Following the negotiations between the Bishkek City Hall and the Korean Water Resources Corporation, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed within the framework of the Bishkek renovation and carbon reduction project.

The document provides for the implementation of a set of measures to reduce the carbon footprint: replacing fuel with environmentally friendly sources, installing drinking water supply systems, extracting biogas from wastewater treatment plants, and introducing technologies to detect and prevent leaks from gas pipelines.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed gratitude for the constructive dialogue and stressed their readiness for further fruitful cooperation.
