Today, November 8, the ceremonial opening of the traditional Mayor’s Cup 2025 took place at the Bilimkana Arena sports complex in Bishkek. The competition involves structural subdivisions, district administrations, and the Bishkek City Kenesh.

The event was opened by Victoria Mozgacheva, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek. In her speech, she noted that the Mayor’s Cup has become a valued tradition that unites teams from various departments, strengthens corporate spirit, and promotes a culture of sports. She wished the participants success, good luck, and teamwork.

Competitions are being held in eight sports disciplines: mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, chess, darts, ordo, arkan tartysh, and billiards.

Overall, more than 22 teams from Bishkek City Hall’s structural subdivisions are participating.

The purpose of the competition is to implement the Presidential Decree of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Spiritual, Moral, and Physical Development of the Individual”, promote physical culture and sports in work collectives, and encourage city hall employees to engage in regular sports activities.

The sports event began on November 1 and will continue until December 7, 2025.
