A ceremonial opening of the sports arena after major reconstruction took place in Bishkek. The event was attended by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.

During the ceremony, the Head of State proposed giving the renovated facility a new symbolic name — “Zhashtyk Arena”, reflecting the spirit of youth, energy, and aspiration for development. Previously, the arena was named after Dolon Omurzakov.

The sports complex has a capacity of 5,000 spectators and a total area of 15,342 square meters. It is a modern three-story building with a basement, equipped according to international standards.

  • The basement houses parking, technical rooms, an electrical panel, and heating units.
  • The first floor includes a training hall, locker rooms, showers, a medical point, and a conference hall.
  • The second floor contains a food court, storage, sanitary and technical rooms, as well as spectator stands.
  • The third floor features a VIP hall and additional spectator seating.

The multifunctional arena is designed to host sports competitions, international tournaments, concerts, and cultural events.

During the opening ceremony, President Sadyr Japarov signed a football and symbolically handed it over to the future generation.

Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev introduced the Head of State to the arena’s infrastructure. Together, they toured the training halls, locker rooms, and participated in a concert program dedicated to the national youth forum “Kyalymdagy Kyrgyzstan”.

As part of the forum, young leaders, entrepreneurs, athletes, and graduates of leading global universities presented their initiatives and shared their vision for the country’s future. They expressed their readiness to actively contribute to societal development, innovation, and strengthening statehood.
