The Municipal Enterprise “Bishkek Funeral Services Agency” (the Agency) is the sole specialized enterprise under the Bishkek city mayor’s office responsible for implementing a unified policy in the funeral services sector. The Agency was established based on municipal property and is engaged in organizing burials, providing funeral services, manufacturing funeral products, as well as maintaining and operating city cemeteries.
The Agency’s structure includes production units for manufacturing coffins, crosses, mourning ribbons, photo ceramics, and wreaths, as well as a fleet of 13 special-purpose vehicles.
Main services of the Agency include:
- Processing documents for burial and reburial;
- Organizing funerals and transportation of the deceased;
- Manufacturing and selling funeral items (coffins, wreaths, crosses, plaques, enamel photos, etc.);
- Renting funeral items and equipment;
- Delivery of bodies to other cities.

On January 22, 2025, the Agency and the Bishkek City Main Department of Internal Affairs signed an agreement on the free transportation of forensic medical examination objects, ensuring the rapid delivery of bodies and RCSME specialists.
In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Resolution No. 67 dated 14.02.2025, it is recommended to refrain from installing luxurious monuments, tombstones, fences made of granite, marble, or precious stones.
The height of grave monuments should not exceed 0.7 meters, and fences should be installed only when necessary, preferably using modest and inexpensive materials.
