Mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Junushaliev, together with representatives of city services and municipal enterprises, conducted another inspection tour of the capital’s streets to monitor the progress of repair and construction works.

On Kurmanjan Datka Street (from Zhibek-Zholu Avenue to Chui Avenue), sidewalk construction is ongoing on both sides. The works are delayed due to the relocation of utility networks carried out by Bishkek City Telephone Network JSC, Severelektro JSC, and Bishkek PES. Mayor Junushaliev ordered these works to be completed within five days. If deadlines are not met, the municipality will carry out the works independently and recover costs from the aforementioned enterprises.

The mayor also emphasized the need for high-quality construction of the bike lane and instructed consideration of installing U-shaped traffic lights in this section.

Junushaliev stressed the importance of stricter control over illegal parking. Municipal inspection officers were already on site issuing fines to violators.

On Mederova Street, the mayor expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of works by the Bishkek City Telephone Network. He ordered acceleration of the process, the involvement of additional contractors if necessary, and consideration of sanctions for missed deadlines.

“We do not have time to wait 4–5 years. Use modern technologies and approaches, complete works promptly, while strictly ensuring quality and safety,” emphasized Aybek Junushaliev.

During the inspection of Vostochnaya Street, a resident approached the mayor requesting organization of public transport and installation of a bus stop. The resident also complained about a municipal employee who did not answer the phone number provided in the official response. The mayor personally called the number—there was no answer.

As a result, Mayor Junushaliev reprimanded the responsible employee and instructed that contact details in official documents be carefully verified in the future. He also demanded disciplinary measures, up to dismissal, in case of repeated violations.

The mayor then inspected the construction of the underground pedestrian crossing on Ch. Aitmatov Avenue and instructed that work be accelerated to open traffic as soon as possible.

Additionally, he revisited a residential building previously affected by flooding and personally checked the progress of remediation works.

At the end of the tour, Mayor Junushaliev inspected Fuchika Street, where sidewalk reconstruction is underway, and instructed tighter control over the quality of ongoing works.
