On November 18, 2025, the long-awaited bridge across the Southern Bypass Road (ЮБЧК) opened in Bishkek, connecting Shukurov Street (formerly Kropotkin Street) and Mederov Street. In just three months, a modern, safe, and convenient structure—eagerly anticipated by residents—was built here. Now traffic along this route is direct and comfortable, improving the city’s transport connectivity.

A full range of construction works was completed on the site: 14-meter beams were installed, two layers of asphalt were laid, road markings were applied, and traffic signs were installed. The roadway of the bridge has two lanes and is 10 meters wide. Pedestrian sidewalks 2.25 meters wide were built on both sides. For nighttime safety, lighting was installed—five streetlight poles. The total length of the structure is 17 meters, and the width is 9 meters.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, residents of nearby houses, and others.

Construction began in July 2025. The project was developed in 2024 based on the architectural and planning assignment issued by the “Bishkekglavarchitecture” State Institution and passed state examination.

The Mayor noted that this is only the beginning, with the opening of the bridge on Auezov Street next on the agenda—another project eagerly awaited by residents.

The new bridge is fully ready for operation and open to traffic.
