In the capital, active joint work continues under the 2025–2026 Roadmap, prepared to implement the Agreement on Establishing Sister City Relations between Bishkek and Yekaterinburg, approved on September 14, 2024, by Bishkek Mayor A. J. Junushaliev and Yekaterinburg Head A. V. Orlov.
Leaders from the Bishkek City Hall’s Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism, and Youth Work, Yekaterinburg Administration’s Committee for Physical Culture and Sports (Lyudmila Fitina), International and Foreign Economic Relations Office (Irina Salova), and Department of Education (Inna Gumbatova) held an online meeting.
During the discussion, the parties exchanged experiences in developing sports infrastructure, managing sports schools, and implementing modern technologies in training processes. Special attention was given to cooperation between specialized youth Olympic reserve sports schools (SDYUSHOR). Areas of cooperation discussed include:
- Experience exchange between SDYUSHOR schools in both cities and development of coach collaboration;
- Conducting joint training camps and sports events;
- Preliminary agreement on the participation of Bishkek athletes in the opening of the athletics season “Christmas Starts” in Yekaterinburg;
- Implementation of joint projects and initiatives between sports schools of the two cities.
Cooperation between Bishkek and Yekaterinburg opens new opportunities for the development of youth sports, professional methodology exchange, and strengthening partnerships between sports schools. This form of interaction contributes to expanding international initiatives, improving the quality of young athletes’ training, and promoting the overall development of youth potential in both cities.
