A grand opening of the large-scale “COFFEE FEST KG” festival took place at the K. Kojomkul Sports Palace, bringing together professionals of the coffee industry and all lovers of coffee culture.
Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev took part in the event and, in his speech, emphasized the importance of the coffee industry for the economy.
“Today, coffee culture has become part of everyday urban life: every morning thousands of residents walk with a cup of coffee. What seemed distant 15–20 years ago has now become a familiar part of our city’s identity.
According to official data, more than 280 coffee shops are currently operating in the city. This shows that the industry is already dominant and is an element of our capital’s hospitality,” the mayor added.
As part of the event, the following activities were held:
• Master classes and lectures by experts from the coffee market, dedicated to roasting, brewing, service, and current industry trends.
• An exhibition of manufacturers, roasters, suppliers of equipment, packaging, and accessories.
• Barista competitions, as well as public demonstrations of new professional equipment.
• A tasting zone where guests could sample rare coffee varieties and signature drinks.
• A raffle of valuable prizes, including new smartphones, open to all visitor
