Students of SDYUSHOR named after R. Sanatbaev in wrestling performed successfully at the XXV Deaflympic Games in Tokyo. The competitions brought together top athletes from around the world.

The Bishkek athletes won one gold and two bronze medals:

• Smadiyar Jumakadyrov – 1st place (60 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), Deaflympics champion
• Dinmukhamed Bigeldiev – 3rd place (67 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), bronze medalist
• Nartu Abdurakhmanov – 3rd place (97 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), bronze medalist
