A ceremonial event titled “In the Flow of Time and Memory”, dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the poet, playwright, and translator Zhoomart Bökonbaev, was held at Secondary School No. 70.
The main goal of the event was to introduce Bökonbaev’s literary legacy to the younger generation, spark students’ interest, and familiarize them more broadly with the poet’s works through artistic readings.
The event was attended by the poet’s son, Kulubek Bökonbaev; a well-known statesman and public figure, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ishengul Sadykovna; a specialist from the Department of Education, Perizat Düyshöbaevna Bakirova; as well as students and the school’s teaching staff.
During the event, the younger generation was introduced to the poet’s profound and emotionally rich works, which became an important step in fostering interest in literature and promoting national culture and spiritual heritage. In addition, an animated film based on Bökonbaev’s work “Chepten erdin küchü bek” was screened, and collections of his works were donated to the school library.
During the jubilee meeting, Kulubek Zhoomartovich shared interesting memories about his father’s creative work that were not included in published books and expressed his gratitude to the students.
