From December 5 to 7, the capital hosted the Open Bishkek City Cup in Women’s Wrestling for girls in the U-15 and U-17 age categories. Around 250 athletes from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan participated in the competition.
The ceremonial opening of the Cup was attended by Kanatbek Mamatov, Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Work of Bishkek City Hall; Nurzat Nurtaeva, 2025 Women’s Wrestling World Champion; Eldiyar Shatmanov, Director of the SDYUSHOR “Olymp”; and Üsönaly Ryskulov, Senior Wrestling Coach of Bishkek.
The tournament has been held for the fifth time since 2020. Winners and prizewinners will be awarded cups, medals, and certificates.
The event is organized by the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Work of Bishkek City Hall in collaboration with the Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
