An event was held at Asia Mall as part of the annual international campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,” which takes place every year from November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women – to December 10 – Human Rights Day.
In 2025, special attention was given to the rapidly growing form of violence: digital violence against women and girls.
The campaign aims to mobilize all sectors of society to counter both digital and offline violence, strengthen government measures, implement the National Gender Equality Plan, involve the private sector in developing digital safety, improve digital literacy for women and girls, and promote a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of violence.
The campaign’s symbol is the orange color, representing the aspiration for peace, safety, and a future free from violence.
The event was attended by B. Ismailova, Deputy Head of the Municipal Administration of Bishkek for the Lenin Administrative District. Around 50–60 visitors of Asia Mall participated.
During the event, informational activities were conducted, including consultations with specialists, surveys, distribution of materials about support services and hotlines, as well as guidance on protection mechanisms against violence.
