On December 11, 2025, the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, conducted an inspection of construction sites.
During the visit, the city’s head checked the construction of the underground pedestrian crossing on Ch. Aitmatov Avenue. The mayor instructed to strengthen quality control of the construction and to pay special attention to the installation of convenient and safe ramps.
The mayor also reviewed passenger service conditions at the temporary western bus station. To improve passenger comfort, the waiting hall has been upgraded to accommodate 25 seats. The facility is fully heated and equipped with an electronic display showing the current schedule of routes, as well as video surveillance systems.
Additionally, the mayor listened to drivers’ concerns and proposals and instructed the Public Transport and Safety Department under the Bishkek City Police to take appropriate measures against taxi drivers who transport passengers illegally, and to conduct inspections. At the same time, licensed taxi drivers operating at the bus station legally will receive priority in license issuance, while those operating illegally will be advised not to receive licenses.
Following the inspection, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev instructed the relevant services to gravel the bus station area. Business operators were tasked with maintaining the surrounding area in accordance with the city’s landscaping and maintenance regulations.
