In the city of Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan), a national athletics competition for boys and girls was held in memory of Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan O. N. Girzhon.

The competition program included running events at distances of 60 m, 200 m, 400 m, 600 m, 1000 m, 2000 m, and 3000 m, as well as high jump, long jump, and shot put.

A total of 120 athletes participated, including 13 pupils from the athletics department of the S. Dzhumanazarov SDYUSSHOR, who demonstrated a high level of training and achieved strong results.

60 m sprint (boys):

200 m sprint:

• Nikolay Kopenkin — 2nd place (25.4 s), boys

400 m sprint:

• Matvey Bondarev — 3rd place (59.5 s), boys

600 m sprint:

• Aidarbek Kazakbayev — 3rd place (1:29.1), boys

1000 m sprint:

• Ayana Beyshenalieva — 1st place (3:21.0), girls
