Today, October 11, 2025, Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev inspected the renovated section of Kalinin Street and officially opened it for traffic.
The major repair works covered the stretch from Zhibek-Zholu Avenue to U. Salieva Street. After reconstruction, the street has become significantly more convenient and safer for all road users.
Previously a two-lane road, the street has now been expanded to four lanes, which will considerably reduce traffic congestion. Additionally, the intersection with Zhibek-Zholu Avenue has been expanded to seven lanes, increasing the capacity of one of the city’s busiest junctions.
During the renovation, two layers of asphalt concrete were laid, and curbs and road markings were updated.
“We continue to systematically upgrade the capital’s road infrastructure. Our goal is not just to repair streets, but to make them modern, safe, and comfortable for all road users. I thank the specialists and contractors for their high-quality work,” said Mayor Aibek Junushaliev.
This project is part of the City Hall’s comprehensive program to modernize Bishkek’s road network and create comfortable conditions for residents and visitors.
