On November 18, at the “Gazprom Children” Sports and Fitness Complex, the opening of the SDYUSHOR “Olimp” championships in seven sports cultivated at the sports school took place: karate-do, judo, sambo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, women’s wrestling, and rhythmic gymnastics.
The championship was officially opened by Deputy Mayor Viktoria Mozgacheva. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of developing youth sports and supporting young athletes, highlighting the significant contribution of coaches and parents in shaping future sports talents. She wished the participants success and victories.
The opening ceremony was also attended by:
– Kazybek Moldazhiyev, Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic;
– Joomart Shamkanov, Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism, and Youth Work of Bishkek City Hall;
– Kanybek Turdumambetov, President of the National Karate-do Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic;
– Erlan Sherov, Kyrgyz judoka, bronze medalist at the 2024 World Championship, 2022 Asian Games champion, and Asian Championships medalist;
– Nurzat Nurtaeva, Kyrgyz freestyle wrestler, bronze medalist at the 2025 World Championship, silver medalist at the 2022 Asian Games;
– Amantur Ismailov, Kyrgyz Greco-Roman wrestler, bronze medalist at the Asian Games and the 2022 World Championship.
The opening ceremony featured a performance by young gymnasts from SDYUSHOR “Olimp.”
The championship began with karate-do competitions. Students of SDYUSHOR “Olimp” lined up in the hall for the ceremonial event. Each department was represented by 30 athletes, with a total of 210 participants—boys and girls in the junior age groups.
During the event, the achievements of SDYUSHOR “Olimp” athletes at the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris 2024 were also recognized.
