On December 3, 2025, the “Manas” International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament for U-20 boys was held at the sports facility of the R. Sanatbaev Youth Sports School (SDYUSHOR). The competition featured athletes born in 2006, 2007, and 2008, competing in the following weight categories: 55 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 67 kg, 72 kg, 77 kg, 82 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, and 130 kg.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kazybek Moldazhiyev, Director of the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture, and Sports; Victoria Mozgacheva, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek; Joomart Shamkanov, Director of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Affairs of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office; and Azat Emilbekov, authorized representative of the Kyrgyz Republic Wrestling Federation for Greco-Roman wrestling in Chuy Region and Bishkek city.
In her speech, the Deputy Mayor highlighted the importance of hosting such sporting events, especially at the international level, and wished the participants success and confident victories.
The “Manas” tournament has been held since 2020 and gained international status in 2022. This year, athletes from Kazakhstan also participated, promoting stronger sports ties and experience exchange among young wrestlers on the international stage.
Winners and medalists placing first, second, and third will receive medals, diplomas, and commemorative prizes from the organizers and sponsors. The coaches of the champions will also receive cash awards.
