On December 15, 2025, Ala-Too Square hosted one of the most anticipated events of the winter season — the ceremonial lighting of the main New Year’s tree in Bishkek.

Welcoming speeches were delivered to the citizens and guests of the capital by Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev and Deputy Chairman of the Bishkek City Kenesh Zhyldyzbek Abdraimov.

“The symbolic lighting of the tree reminds us of the importance of creating a bright and cozy space in the heart of the Kyrgyz Republic. This holiday unites people of all ages, inspiring care and love for our hometown. The upcoming 2026 year is the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of freedom, strength, activity, and bright changes. I am confident that Bishkek will become a space of new opportunities, dynamic development, and bold decisions aimed at the welfare of residents and the future of our capital,” noted Mayor Aybek Junushaliev.

A rich festive program was prepared for the guests, creating a truly magical atmosphere. The stage featured popular artists and beloved performers such as Aychurok Imanalieva, Ilyaz Abdrazakov, Altynay Asanbekova, Shukhrat Yakubov, Avaz Akimov, Aidana Deka, Almaz Shaadaev, Begish, and others.

A spectacular fire show became the highlight of the evening, giving the audience unforgettable emotions and serving as the climax of the festive program.

One of the key features of the evening was the large-scale recreation zone set up in Ala-Too Square. The city center transformed into a space for family leisure and winter entertainment, with colorful New Year decorations and magical installations, themed photo zones, a food court with hot drinks and street food, and the largest open-air skating rink, creating a truly cozy and festive atmosphere. Children enjoyed visits from Ayaz-Ata and Santa Claus, received gifts, and participated in chocolate and gingerbread workshops.

During the event, Mayor Aybek Junushaliev also presented a monetary certificate from the city’s reserve fund to Nasykat Baymyrzaeva to cover a necessary medical operation.

Dear residents and guests of the capital! We congratulate you on the upcoming New Year and invite you to spend the festive days in the city center — together with family and friends, take bright photos, and enjoy the atmosphere of a true winter fairy tale.
